Echelon Systems LLC
Website design and build

Most trade sites lose the customer before they finish loading

We build fast, plain, hand-written sites for local service businesses. You own the code and the domain, and the contact form is wired into your follow-up from the first day.

Talk about your site

The problem

Think about where somebody actually opens your website. In a truck, on one bar of signal, standing in a driveway deciding who to call. That is the moment your site has to work.

A page built on a drag-and-drop builder has to download the builder before it can show your phone number. Every template ships code for features you will never use, and it all has to arrive before the page means anything. On a weak connection that is the difference between a call and a back button.

You cannot see this happening. Your site looks fine on the laptop you built it on. It is the customers you never hear from who paid for it.

What you get

01

Pages built by hand

No page builder, no theme, no plugins. Every line is written for your business and nothing else ships with it. That is the entire reason these load the way they do.

02

Works on a job-site phone

Built for a small screen and a bad connection first, then widened for a desktop. Tap targets you can hit with a work glove on. Text you can read in the sun.

03

Reachable by everyone

Full keyboard navigation, correct heading structure, real labels on every form field, and colour contrast that passes WCAG AA. Screen readers get a page that makes sense.

04

Search fundamentals done properly

Unique titles and descriptions per page, clean URLs, a sitemap, and structured data describing your business and service area. No monthly SEO retainer attached.

05

A form that actually reaches you

Submissions land in your inbox and in your CRM, not in a plugin dashboard you never log into. Spam is filtered without making a customer solve a puzzle.

06

You own all of it

The domain is registered to you. The code is yours and you get the files. Hosting is in your account. If you stop working with us, nothing switches off and there is nothing to buy back.

Check this page

Every claim above is either true of the page you are reading or it is marketing. So measure this one. Open your browser developer tools, look at the network tab, and count what it took to render.

There is no framework here, no analytics, no tag manager, no cookie banner, and nothing loaded from anyone else’s server. The stylesheet, two font files and the logo are the whole payload.

Work you can look at

We have no client sites to show you yet. Rather than leave this section empty or fill it with somebody else’s work, we built two sites ourselves and put them up. Neither business exists, and every page of both says so at the top.

How a build goes

  1. We look at what you have

Your current site if there is one, the jobs you want more of, and the areas you cover. If your existing site is fine and only needs fixing, we will tell you that instead of quoting a rebuild.

    TODO(anna)
  2. You send content, we structure it

Photos of your own work, your service list, your hours and your service area. Real photographs of real jobs beat anything we could buy. We decide the page structure and write around what you send.

    TODO(anna)
  3. We build it and you look at it

You get a working link, not a picture of a design. You open it on your own phone, on your own connection, and tell us what is wrong before anything goes live.

    TODO(anna)
  4. Launch and hand over

It goes live on hosting in your name. You get the files, the domain login and a short document covering how to change the things you will want to change.

    TODO(anna)

Why not just hire a web designer

A web designer hands you a form that sends an email. You read it on Tuesday. By then the customer has booked someone who answered on Saturday.

We wire the form into the follow-up on the day the site launches. A submission creates the contact, texts them back straight away, and tells you a real lead came in. If they go quiet, the reactivation sequence picks them up months later without you remembering they existed.

That is the part a design shop cannot sell you, because building the site and running the follow-up are the same job here.

What we do not do

We do not build online stores, and we would not do a good job of one. If you need a shopping cart, inventory and payments, you want somebody who does that every day.

We do not build web apps, customer portals or booking systems from scratch. We will connect the booking tool you already use.

We do not write blog posts or run your social accounts. There is no monthly content retainer here.

Saying that costs us the occasional enquiry. It saves both of us a call that was never going to go anywhere.
